About

I write fiction that puts characters under pressure and watches what they do.

Most of my work lives in that space: a masked knight learning to earn a frightened child's trust, a rookie cop discovering that the person who teaches you to survive can own you, a capo whose friendliness is the most dangerous thing in the room, and a fifteen-year-old thief signing his own name away to a state that has already decided it owns him. I write in prose and in screenplay form, across worlds that range from high fantasy to a locked white cell, because the format and the setting should serve the story rather than the other way around.

I also report. When a subject is real, I read the primary source before I write a word about it and I talk to the people who actually do the work — the same instincts I bring to fiction, pointed at the world instead of an invented one. That's why this portfolio keeps one piece of narrative nonfiction next to the fiction: the craft is the same, and I'd rather show both.

I'm a professional writing student at Grand Canyon University, and this site is where I keep the work I'm proudest of. It's also a place I plan to keep building after I graduate — a home for new stories, scripts, and whatever I report next. Look around.
